Divisions

Participants may compete for our unique, one-of-a-kind awards in one of five divisions: Open-Male, Open-Female, Mixed, Corporate and Handicap. Teams in the Open-Male and Open Female divisions must be compoed of all men and all women respectively. Teams in the Mixed division must have a minimum of 2 runners of each gender. All members in the Corporate Division must work for the same employerer. Anyone may enter in the Handicap (Age/gender graded) Division. Awards in the Open-Male, Open-Female, Mixed and Corporate categories are awarded on the basis of scratch (unadjusted) times. In the Handicap Division, time adjustments are made for each runner based upon the runner's age and gender. The use of a handicap table is intended to give all teams an opportunity to compete against each other on a more equitable basis than "scratch" times.

The team "handicap" is the total of the time adjustments of all 6 runners. Each team's actual finishing time is adjusted by subtracting the team handicap to arrive at an adjusted finishing time. Awards in the handicap division will be made on the basis of adjusted finishing times.
